The San Marcos Greenbelt Alliance, has been working tirelessly since 1998 to protect the quality of life for visitors and residents through the creation of interconnected parks and natural areas. This incredible organization has been a leading advocate in the conservation, protection, and maintenance of San Marcos’ beautiful natural areas ensuring that future generations can enjoy them. Every year, 10 million straw-coloured fruit bats migrate to Kasanka National Park from all over equatorial Africa. The local communities benefit from the revenue generated by ecotourism and direct employment.
